History

The Lombardi Honda Racing team is more than simply the competition arm of the well-known Honda dealer, it is an entity dedicated to the internal dynamic and to offering greater visibility for the brand, its drivers and its partners.

Lombardi Honda Racing earned its first Canadian title in automotive sports in 1983. Since then, five more all-categories driver’s championships have been claimed by the team – the most recent of which by Nick Wittmer, 2009 Canadian Touring Car champion.

In 2010, Lombardi Honda Racing is putting its title on the line with three Honda Civic SIs participating in the start of the Canadian Touring Car Championship. Nick Wittmer and Benjamin Distaulo will take part in

every race on the calendar in Ontario and in Quebec. A third car will take part in selected races, and will be driven by Kuno Wittmer and a driver still to be designated.

The Lombardi Honda Racing team made its entry into the Canadian Touring Car Championship in 2008 by participating in a partial calendar. The team first joined in the full schedule in 2009, grabbing the championship in its first go. Up to now, Lombardi Honda Racing has racked up 2 victories and 12 podium finishes in the series, which is recognized as the hardest-fought of all national championships.
